The Sound of Silence?

Somedays it is all too much….noise levels of trucks going by, planes passing overhead, Donald Trump and his message of loving one’s self over everything. Somedays sitting in my garden with my dog watching bluejays eating birdfood off the stump is all I want and need. In summer my world here is a world of peace while outside the gates wars of all types shake the foundations of this planet. Buddhism , it was said, had a hard time catching on in the Western cultures because it spoke of silence and non-action where the breath is stilled so one might hear the breathing of the
invisible universe that connects us all. Nirvana for me is a passing moment, never a companion. But I listen still.

About christineemmert

Words have been part of my life. First the spoken word in my time as an actress and increasingly the written word in my shift to writer. I write across the genres, but mostly as a playwright and poet. My interest as my life extends is in the realm of tethering myth to the mundane reality where I live. In this vein I have expanded into stories and novels. Presently I look at how myths taken from past cultures can affect us today. Hence my novella of Lilith which is out on Kindle . I live in the Eastern Woodlands where I try to incorporate nature into my many writing projects. We are so in danger of losing that link to our very planet!
