A Watched Pot Never Boils (my blood does however)

The world seems to continue its pace, even in a bumpy fashion. The Springtime will show up and we will complain about heat and insects and the rest. Our day-to-day life is the watched pot that never boils — although it will simmer. However the world is changing….glaciars are disappearing, species are vanishing, and the
air is ripe with new pollutants. I will be gone into the earth long before this planet looks like a fire sale, but there are those I love who will give birth to others that will be loved.
Neil DeGrasse Tyson says when he goes out the door he always looks up. I can find hope in that thought. Looking up we see the stars or the blue skies. Looking up we see the continuance of a universe, although looking around we can see from our
more immediate environment it may not include us one day.

About christineemmert

Words have been part of my life. First the spoken word in my time as an actress and increasingly the written word in my shift to writer. I write across the genres, but mostly as a playwright and poet. My interest as my life extends is in the realm of tethering myth to the mundane reality where I live. In this vein I have expanded into stories and novels. Presently I look at how myths taken from past cultures can affect us today. Hence my novella of Lilith which is out on Kindle . I live in the Eastern Woodlands where I try to incorporate nature into my many writing projects. We are so in danger of losing that link to our very planet!
