Cherry Blossoms, Magnolias and the Illusions

Now the world seems more promising. Yesterday walking in NYC I saw cherry blossoms
spread their pink charms, magnolias swell and felt the illusion become reality for me.I was enchanted, even though I know from many years of watching the turnings that
this too passes….and the hot steamy summer will stew us . Nevertheless I am a writer who deals in illusions. My book, THE NUN’S DRAGON, talks about the illusion of comfort that religion provides while the hard scabs of life form . It seems more and more each year we await the cherry blossoms, the magnolias and the subtle
perfumes of April like drugs to reduce the pains we feel. Not to cure those pains, but to calm down our anger that we live in a universe where pain must be felt at all.

About christineemmert

Words have been part of my life. First the spoken word in my time as an actress and increasingly the written word in my shift to writer. I write across the genres, but mostly as a playwright and poet. My interest as my life extends is in the realm of tethering myth to the mundane reality where I live. In this vein I have expanded into stories and novels. Presently I look at how myths taken from past cultures can affect us today. Hence my novella of Lilith which is out on Kindle . I live in the Eastern Woodlands where I try to incorporate nature into my many writing projects. We are so in danger of losing that link to our very planet!
