A NUN AND A DRAGON WALK INTO A BAR

I have just finished what is the first draft of a piece I started writing last winter about a nun and a dragon — and no! it’s definitely not a children’s story. It isn’t sweet or even horrific. It’s my own questioning of what is innocence and who is responsible for its fall. I touched on this idea in my novella LILITH, but it takes a much more cosmic tone here. Sometimes one writes the story and sometimes the story writes the writer. This is a case of the latter. People ask me why I write. Like the red shoes and dancing, once I pick up the metaphorical pen I must keep going inspite of….
I am not spurred on by money or the possibility of fame. BUT I must know what happens to a dragon sleeping in a meadow and a future nun who wakes him up. Stranger things have happened in literature. I wish I could talk to the writers of those fictional events. I am quiet now. My nun and dragon have worked it out. TAKE OFF THE RED SHOES,JULIAN.

About christineemmert

Words have been part of my life. First the spoken word in my time as an actress and increasingly the written word in my shift to writer. I write across the genres, but mostly as a playwright and poet. My interest as my life extends is in the realm of tethering myth to the mundane reality where I live. In this vein I have expanded into stories and novels. Presently I look at how myths taken from past cultures can affect us today. Hence my novella of Lilith which is out on Kindle . I live in the Eastern Woodlands where I try to incorporate nature into my many writing projects. We are so in danger of losing that link to our very planet!
