The Sandusky Verdict

Suffer the little children to come unto me.  That command can be from the lips of Jesus or the many pedophiles out there.  In Jesus’ mouth there is a sweetness.  Jerry Sandusky had a different line reading of the thought.  In his trial we heard the children came and they suffered.

If we are inclined to compassion it must err on the side of those young men who sobbed through their remembrances.  Lives beyond those children have been ruined.  And still there are dark confessions unrevealed by many who came in trust, and left with their innocence wet upon the floor of rooms less than holy.

When does a man step over a line?  who is there who will not look away but straight into the eyes of that man and say:”Enough.”

About christineemmert

Words have been part of my life. First the spoken word in my time as an actress and increasingly the written word in my shift to writer. I write across the genres, but mostly as a playwright and poet. My interest as my life extends is in the realm of tethering myth to the mundane reality where I live. In this vein I have expanded into stories and novels. Presently I look at how myths taken from past cultures can affect us today. Hence my novella of Lilith which is out on Kindle . I live in the Eastern Woodlands where I try to incorporate nature into my many writing projects. We are so in danger of losing that link to our very planet!
